I bought this to replace a 7 year old auto humidistat by Aprilaire( with OA compensation); old one still worked but did not have the furnace blower fan actuation feature.This furnace is a new high efficiency furnace with short heating cycles, consequently humidity at times was never satisfied in the space. Now, no problem, as unit operates blower if humidity is required regardless of thermostat calling for heat. VERY pleased with performance!
Excellent directions with unit and good desc. above of the unit.
One word of caution--may be difficult for aveage homeowner to install as furnace & thermostat wiring must be modified and, in most cases, a constant 24vac power source must also be installed to operate the solenoid valve for the humidifier unit.

This works well, no complaints. However, if you do not have it installed by a professional HVAC contractor Aprilaire will not honor the warranty.

I installed this myself and had quite a time of it due to a really sloppy install originally by the contractor that installed the humidifer. I eventually had to rewire the whole thing. The do it yourself forums were a huge help as was Aprilaire support. If you want to read my install adventure you can see it here

Again Aprilaire support was top notch and helped fix the bad wiring job by the original contractor. The unit works so much better than the old one. I like the automatic fan feature. Yes it does cause a lot of water to be used but it's really controlling the humidity in my house now. I've been able to completely get rid of the supplemental unit I had been using.
